May 2, 2024 – (Howey-In-The-Hills, FL.) – The 2024 PGA Head Professional Championship of Canada, presented by Callaway Golf, is set to return to Florida for the first time since 2017.
Located just outside Orlando, Mission Resort + Club in Howey-In-The-Hills is set to host the final event of the National Championship schedule from December 9-12 on the El Campeón course, designed in 1917 by George O’Neil.
The championship will bring together Canada’s top head professionals, head teaching professionals, executive professionals, and general managers (among other eligible member categories) who look to join an elite list of past champions.
Known for its dramatic undulation and unique holes, the El Campeón course is a formidable test, tipping out at 7,015 yards. Over the years, it has hosted several PGA TOUR Americas Q-Schools, Epson Tour Q-Schools, as well as NCAA and State High School Championships.
“We are honored to host this prestigious event and welcome a formidable field of golfers to one of the most picturesque locations in the Sunshine State, said Cindy Staley, General Manager of Mission Resort. “El Campeón has a tradition of hosting significant events, and we look forward to seeing Canada’s top PGA Professionals tee it up and enjoy all our resort has to offer.”
Callaway Golf, a leader in golf innovation, returns as presenting sponsor. Their continued support highlights their commitment to excellence and the promotion of golf at its highest level, as well as the promotion of PGA of Canada members throughout Canada. In addition, Callaway plans to host a memorable welcome reception in advance of the 54-hole championship tournament.
“We are so excited to bring this PGA National Championship to Mission Resort + Club, which we feel will be a tremendous spot to both stay and play during our event,” said PGA of Canada CEO Kevin Thistle. “Callaway’s involvement has helped us elevate this event to be one of the premier professional events in the country, and this year at Mission Resort will be no different. I can’t wait to see so many industry friends in Florida this December at such an incredible venue.”
